Ohio Dominican University has received more than $32,000 in endowment distributions from The Catholic Foundation. The funds will help provide scholarship assistance to individuals in the Diocese of Columbus who are engaged in pastoral or institutional ministry through ODU’s Master of Theology degree program. The funds will also support initiatives that help develop and maintain the University’s Catholic identity.

Loren Brown, President of The Catholic Foundation and member of the ODU Board of Trustees, presented a check to ODU President Robert A. Gervasi, Ph.D. on Thursday, March 15.

“These funds are critically important to the students we serve on a daily basis,” said Dr. Gervasi. “This gift also will enable us to search for, identify and pursue opportunities to further promote our Catholic Dominican identity, which is at the very heart of everything we do as a University.”

An endowment fund is designed to function in perpetuity, making it possible for long-term financial support to a chosen cause. Once established, anyone can make additional contributions to the fund in any dollar amount.
