Loren Brown became the seventh President & CEO of The Catholic Foundation in 2011 where he leads a mission of stewarding the charitable gifts of the faithful for the educational, social, vocational, and parish needs of the 23-county Diocese of Columbus. Established in 1985, The Catholic Foundation is one of the largest independent Catholic foundations in the United States. Under Loren’s leadership of a professional team, The Catholic Foundation manages over 1,500 endowments, $225 million in assets, and annually grants over $15 million for the needs throughout the Diocese of Columbus.
For nearly 30 years, Loren has devoted his career to serving the social and human service needs of people and communities. Prior to joining The Catholic Foundation, Loren helped lead a continuum of child welfare and community services throughout Michigan and in Ohio. His experiences and leadership over the years has always been to address the needs of the poor and vulnerable, opportunities for quality education, and care for at-risk and underserved families and communities.
Loren earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from The University of Toledo, and with honors earned a Master of Business Administration Degree from The University of Notre Dame.
Loren’s community work includes volunteering at the St. Vincent Haven in Newark, Ohio, the St. Thomas More Newman Center at The Ohio State University, member of the Ohio Dominican University Board of Trustees, and as a parish homebound minister. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and Board Chair for the Legatus Columbus Chapter.
Loren and his wife, Stacey, are natives of Toledo, Ohio and are members of the St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church in Granville, Ohio.
