Message from the Bishop
My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
I am delighted to welcome you to The Catholic Foundation’s website. When I became your bishop, I was inspired and glad to learn that virtually every area of ministry in our diocese benefits from funds administered by The Catholic Foundation. This is a wonderful testament of the generosity and wise stewardship of faith-filled men, women and parishes of our diocese.
The Catholic Foundation was conceived by Bishop James A. Griffin in 1985. Bishop Griffin believed the diocese needed to establish endowments so gifts could provide interest and income to permanently fund parishes, schools, social service facilities and ministries. Today the Foundation attracts a growing number of Catholics who want to share the blessings God has given them in a way that will make a lasting difference to the Church they love.
For generations to come the mission of The Catholic Foundation will continue to sustain and enhance the charitable, the educational and the spiritual ministries of our diocese. We who serve that heritage today are one with those who led the way. As the New Testament exhorts us in 1 Timothy 6:19 – “Thus will they build a secure foundation for the future, for receiving that life which is life indeed.”
I invite you to tour this web site and to prayerfully consider becoming a part of the Foundation as a benefactor to one of our many great Catholic causes.
May God continue to bless and keep you.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Frederick F. Campbell, D.D., Ph.D.
Bishop of Columbus
